The leaves are changing all around me and I would feel guilty if I didn’t try to capture the beautiful hues of maroon, peach, gold and green somehow. I saw this post on Pinterest that cut the leaf shapes out of fabric but I think using the real thing is way better (and cheaper). My mom and I walked along the river yesterday morning and grabbed every color we could find. We then paired the contrasting leaves into bundles and tied them together with twine. Although I don’t know that these will last until Thanksgiving, I think they would be a beautiful and affordable project to create just before Turkey Day for all of your guests.
I used twine to tie the stems together and then attach the name tags to. Ribbon or hot glue would also work.
I sprayed the leaves with polyurethane clear finish gloss making the place cards shiny and stiff.
All I had to do was pair the leaves, tie the stems with twine, cut a name tag and tie it on, and set the table! When there is so much glittery fall decor in stores, it’s refreshing to see decor that is actually from nature and not just imitation. I hope you feel as inspired as I did by the fall beauty around you. Happy fall!
